# Leara web, iOS, and Android apps for office and floor

> Overview of the Leara web app for the office and the iOS and Android apps for the floor, including handheld scanners and offline stocktaking support.

Leara has three surfaces that share the same data: a web app for the office, and iOS and Android apps for the floor. This page describes what each one is for and how they stay in sync.

## Surfaces

| Surface | Used for |
| - | - |
| Web app | Office work: products, orders, invoices, quotes, purchasing, settings, and starting or finishing stocktakes |
| iOS app | Floor work: home, orders, pick lists, stock, stocktaking, and purchasing |
| Android app | The same floor workflows on Android phones and handheld scanners |

## Handheld scanners

The Android app supports Zebra handheld devices through Zebra DataWedge, so you can scan barcodes directly with the device's built-in scanner.

## Real-time and offline stocktaking

Stocktaking is split between web and mobile:

1. A stocktake is started in the web app.
2. Staff count items with the iOS or Android app. Counts sync in real time.
3. If the device loses connection, counts are stored locally and synced when the connection returns.
4. The stocktake is finished in the web app.

See [Stocktaking](/inventory/stocktaking) for the step-by-step guide.
